Greg Oden was taken first overall (ahead of KD) in the 2007 draft by Portland, prior to his rookie season (‘07-’08), he had surgery on his right knee that forced him to miss his entire first year. In his second year (‘08-’09), which was considered his rookie season, he played in 61 out of 82 regular season games, starting just 39 of those games. Then into his 3rd NBA season (‘09-’10), he played and started the first 21 games before fracturing his left patella, later having surgery that would force him to miss the 3 seasons following the ‘09-’10 season and would only end up playing in the NBA again in the ‘13-’14 season with the Miami Heat, playing in just 23 games.
